The actor has started working on his physique after filmmakers approached him with DVDs of South Indian action films that they are keen to re-make
With everyone from action heroes like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn to romcom stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor working on action films, it is now Ranveer Singh's turn.
With the successes of Wanted, Dabangg and Singham, Singh, who made a name in the industry with hit romcom Band Baaja Baaraat, is itching to do an action film.
He will probably not have to wait too long, since filmmakers armed with scripts and DVDs of South Indian actions flicks have reportedly approached him.
"I have been given DVDs to watch, so that re-makes can be made. Most of these are South Indian action flicks. I am going through them and will probably say yes to one of them," said Singh, who is currently working on his second film, Ricky Bahl Versus The Ladies, another romcom, with Yashraj productions.
According to the actor, his second film will be complete soon and by September, he will have a better idea of what he will do next. "I want to start my next film by January," he said.
The actor, keeping in mind, the challenge before him, has started working on his physique. "I'll be honest. I have to work hard to look presentable," he said, candidly.

'Aaya Re Aaya Bodyguard'....that's the item song which Katrina would be joyously gyrating to in Bodyguard. Even as Katrina gears up for the challenge of outdoing her 'Sheila Ki Jawaani' number she has a bigger challenge to meet up to.
Salman Khan aka the King Of All He Surveys, will also be part of the song. Apparently, he reasoned that since the song is about his character, Bodyguard ka hona to haq banta hai, boss. Now Ganesh Acharya has been asked to incorporate Salman into Katrina's elaborate item number.

Apparently, Salman wants the number structured like 'Sheila Ki Jawaani' where Akshay Kumar joins Katrina. That is easier said than done.

Says a source, "Salman likes to do his own thing in the dance numbers. Everyone knows in 'Munni Badnaam' he didn't follow Farah Khan's instructions. Katrina will be rigorously rehearsing her steps for 'Aaya Re Aaya Bodyguard'. She wants it to be as perfect as 'Sheila Ki Jawaani'. Salman's improvisations are bound to distract her. But the there is not much she can do about it. Because as Salman pointed out the song is about him, so he has to be part of it."

Bodyguard producer Atul Agnihotri confirms that Salman would be part of Katrina's item number.

Kareena Kapoor has pipped Priyanka Chopra to be the brand ambassador of a global brand. This will be her third international ad. 
"Initially the brand wanted Priyanka as their ambassador. But after conducting a survey, they chose Kareena. The research showed that she is well known in the international brand circuit," said a source close to Kareena.

"She endorses 14 brands and is way ahead of the others. The brand was also looking for iconic, aspirational and youth centric elements that are signature Kareena. She is a global face today."

Currently Kareena is busy with her films and endorsements. "She is busy shooting for Atul Agnihotri's Bodyguard with Salman Khan in Pune.

A special team of technicians including make-up, hair and photographer are coming from London to shoot the ad with her. She shoots for her ads at night and the day is kept for the film's shooting."

The Kapoor lass will also perform at an award event on January 29. The source adds that she will go for the award function just a day before, record and then come back to shoot for Bodyguard.

Pakistani national hero Aisam-ul-Haq is going to surprise his fans about his dream girl. Vivek Oberoi is making sure that he finished his training that will equip him to fly a plane before he starts shooting for Krrish 2. It is learnt that he will be doing some daredevil aerial stunts for the climax scene with Hrithik Roshan in the next Rakesh Roshan movie.
A well-placed source told us that Vivek has enrolled at a flying institute in Florida, US. And as and when he can, he takes off, to complete his flying hours before he can get his license.
"Considering the curiosity surrounding the next Krissh sequel, the production house is trying to keep things under wraps as the film starts shooting later this November," said our informer, adding that Vivek too, is being cautious about not letting out any information.
Reportedly, his character is inspired from Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier in the Hollywood's X-Men series. Interestingly, there's a mutant angle in the Rakesh Roshan directed movie as Chitrangada Singh's character is based on Mystique, who can transform herself completely into another individual.

The X factor
Another source revealed that the actor is relegated to the wheelchair for a considerable portion of the film. "He can move only his hands for a major part of the movie.
But later, he is cured and gains mobility before the action-filled climax," says the source, adding that this is when he flies a plane for the confrontational sequences.
Interestingly, Professor X, as Charles Xavier is also called in the X-Men series, also has a special plane for himself and his team. Maybe that's the inspiration for the producer-director, who's also said to be planning a specially designed aircraft for Vivek's character in the movie.

Rumors are ripe that the Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer and the Shirish Kunder directed Joker is about Super heroes and aliens. There were rumors floating around that this film is inspired from Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’, which had Heath Ledger deliver a brilliant performance as Joker, which won him a posthumous Oscar award as well. There were other rumors that this film is going to be an out of the world experience where the hero will be battling aliens or extra-terrestrials. But for now, all these only seem to be rumors and nothing else, as Shirish Kumder has vehemently denied all these speculations.

Shirish has gone on record stating that the film’s story has definitely no aliens nor super heroes although, there are a few fantasy elements interwoven into the script. Kunder has revealed that Akshay plays a scientist in the film who comes to his village in India from the US.

Well. we will have to wait and see what the film is all about and if Akshay is seriously considering competing with SRK in becoming a superhero.

Bipasha Basu is glowing these days. Her good friends have been talking about the new mystery man in her life for weeks now, but the dusky actress has so far only admitted to dating "someone new", refusing to reveal his identity. The secret is out now. TOI has learnt that the screen siren has been dating Shahid Kapoor!

Says a source, "For over a month now, Bipasha has been talking about a very sweet guy in her life. She's been telling friends that he's an eligible young man and has been showering her with gifts and some much-needed attention. She's been gushing to her friends about how "sweet and affectionate" he is. Bips maintains that while they are not serious yet, he's been wooing her persistently and she's basking in the warmth of his adoration."

Considering they've never worked together, everyone's wondering how the two met. Apparently they were introduced by Shahid's trainer, Abbas. Shahid is as much of a fitness junkie as Bipasha ' that was a common bonding subject the first time they met. "Obviously they are only just getting to know each other, so Bips doesn't want to jinx it by talking openly about Shahid," says the source.

Both Bipasha and Shahid have recently split from their long-time partners ( John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra, respectively) and don't want their budding romance to come under the spotlight. A couple of weeks ago, however, Shahid was spotted with hickeys on his neck during a shoot and people on the unit pulled his leg about it. He refused to comment on the mystery lady who 'marked' him, but was later spotted out and about with Bips. Adds the source, "On Saturday night, Shahid hosted a small party at his newly-renovated Andheri home. There were about 20 guests, and Bipasha was also present. Shahid had invited only a handful of his close friends, including Siddharth Anand, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and husband Farhan Azmi, Ahmed Khan, so her presence there raised quite a few eyebrows."

When asked, Bipasha claims she hardly knows Shahid. His spokesperson on the other hand says, "They are friends, just as he is friends with other people in the industry. The news of them dating is untrue." Ho hum!

Actress Kalki Koechlin has rubbished reports suggesting she and her "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" co-star Katrina Kaif don't gel well with each other, saying there are having no problems between them

"There have been a lot of people picking on us that me and Kat are fighting. I think it is really sad because not one person has come and asked me what I think, they have just kind of assumed. There are no issues," Kalki told reporters here Sunday.




The actress was present at the PVR Cinemas in Ambience mall, Gurgaon, along with starcast of the film Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Katrina Kaif. They were also accompanied by director Zoya Akhtar and Farhan's production partner Ritesh Sidhwani.

Kalki, who will once again be seen with Abhay after "Dev D", says she doesn't want to be trapped in one image and hopes to do different kind of roles.

"It (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) is different from the other film (Dev D) definitely that we have done and I think Abhay doesn't tend to stick on one thing and neither me," she said.

"I don't want to be labled or trapped, my job is to change and adapt to everything that comes. And it's exciting that I am doing something different."

The actress, who recently tied the knot with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, was last seen in "Shaitan".

Kareena Kapoor had to cut short her Paris holiday with Saif Ali Khan by a day.

Sources say Bebo had promised the “Bodyguard” unit, especially Salman Khan, that she would be back in time. “The Patiala leg of “Bodyguard” was running out of schedule.

Salman pitched in and asked Bebo to join. She took a Delhi-bound flight from Paris, from there she travelled to Chandigarh and then to Patiala. She was tired from all that travelling, but managed to head for the shoot,” a source says.

Just last month we had informed you that Ajay Devgn would soon be teaming up with Omkara director Vishal Bhardwaj for a project. Though the reports were confirmed, the question of who would play the lead actress still remained a mystery

If what we hear now is anything to go by, then the film which is being produced by Vishal, Ajay and Kumar Mangat jointly is all set to feature Anushka Sharma as the leading lady.
Vishal was mighty impressed with Anushka's performance in films such as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Band Baaja Baaraat and decided on casting the talented actress.
The film, which is scheduled to hit the floors some time next year in mid Jan, will feature Anushka as Ajay's love interest. Interestingly this is the first time the duo would be sharing screen space together.

Although Rajnikanth's illness has thrown the schedule of Rana out of gear, it looks as if the production plans will still proceed as per the availability of Deepika Padukone's dates.


The reason being that the south superstar and director K S Ravikumar were so keen to sign the actress, that they assured her that the shooting of the movie would be planned keeping her dates in mind.

It was also agreed that busy Dippy would allot merely eight to 10 days a month for the movie.

"Never mind if the production time extended by a couple of months, to accommodate her," says a friend of the actress, adding that the superstar and director had flown to Bhopal (where she was shooting for Aarakshan) to finalise her dates for Rana.

Ravikumar maintains that DP will be the leading lady in Rana, even though she might have allotted the dates (now cancelled) to another filmmaker.

Currently, she's shooting with Saif Ali Khan for Homi Adajania's Cocktail and also has Abbas-Mustan's Race 2 in her kitty.


"The first and only name we had in mind was Deepika. We had a good experience of working with her in the first schedule in Chennai," the filmmaker stated.

However, the next schedule will be planned only after doctors assure that Rajnikanth is fit to shoot. "In fact, Rajni sir is ready to do the easier scenes now. But we don't want to stress him," says the director.

He also revealed Rajnikanth will be doing his own action sequences in the movie.

"Rajni sir is very particular about delivering what his fans expect from him. Of course, we'll take all the necessary precautions and care," concluded Ravikumar.

The debut producers of Love Breakups Zindagi, Zayed Khan and Dia Mirza have been raving about a surprise package in their maiden venture. Well, we have uncovered it. The surprise is none other than Shah Rukh Khan, who is doing a special appearance in the film.


A source from the crew spills the beans, "Zayed wanted to rope in his brother-in-law Hrithik Roshan for the cameo, but his dates were not available.

Dia told Zayed that they should approach Shah Rukh. Since they both have known him and have worked with him they decided to request him to do a special appearance. SRK, who has always valued friendship and is eager to help his friends agreed to do so."


Well, it must not have been easy to for Shah Rukh to say no since he has worked with Zayed in Main Hoon Naa and is also good friends with his brother-in-law Hrithik. Not to forget that ZK's sister Sussanne Roshan and Gauri Khan are best buddies.

"Since SRK is working on the post production of Ra.One and not shooting for any other project, he decided to squeeze in three days of shoot for their film. He will be shooting with them post July 15 at his place or at a Bandra five-star hotel," informs the source.

Famous Pakistani artist Mahnoor Baloch will celebrate her 41th
 birthday on July 14, 2011. She will throw a simple birthday party for friends.

Recently appearing in Hum TV drama serial “Mohabbat Rooth Jaye Toh”, Pakistani actress,model and director Mahnoor Baloch was born on July 14, 1970. She is supposed to celebrate her coming birthday on July 14, 2011 with friends and family and will arrange a simple birthday bash for them.

Since the fate of Dostana's second edition is still shaky, the lead pair Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham has decided to stop waiting for it and move on.
 


If all goes well they will come together in the sequel of Kaante along with Arjun Rampal and Bobby Deol.

Serious male bonding
A source reveals, "Abhishek and John's great chemistry in Dostana earned them a lot of fans. Both actors are very fond of each other. 

They were looking forward to work again in the second edition of the film and consequently didn't sign any other movies. But since Dostana 2 isn't probably happening, they have decided to stop waiting for it. 

They always wanted to do another franchise and Kaante 2 fitted the bill perfectly. They have heard the script and given their consent but the official announcement is yet to be made."

Hollywood connection
The source adds, "The film is directed by a Hollywood director of Mask and The Scorpion King, Chuck Russel and will be shot in South Africa." 

Producer Shabbir Boxwala informs, "The film is in a very raw stage. We are planning to put it together. According to paper work Raju Patel holds the rights. Since he is no more, I am planning to make the sequel with his younger brother Uru patel."

About casting he says, "We have not approached Abhishek and John. Arjun and Bobby are my dear friends, so I had a casual chat with them. But we haven't approached anyone officially."

He confirms about the Hollywood director. "Russel was a dear friend of Raju Patel and was always interested in making a Bollywood film. We are in talks with him. Since he is a big name we will surely have a fancy star cast in the film."

John Abraham has huge expectations from Nishikant Kamat's next, Force, that stars him along side Genelia D'Souza.
The action movie, which is a remake of a Tamil film Kakha Kakha, is touted as John's comeback after debacles like Ashayein and Jhootha Hi Sahi.However, seems like the entire movie is done except for two songs featuring GD, who has not been able to dole out dates for the shoot.
Says a source, "Force is John's comeback film. After several of his movie including Saat Khoon Maaf missing the box office mark, the actor is really looking forward to a return with his first full-fledged action movie.
He has worked really hard and he would really like an early release. But Genelia's dates are holding up the film's completion."

When approached producer Vipul Shah didn't deny the story.

"Yes, we do need to shoot two songs with her. One is her introductory song in the film and the other is a romantic duet with John. She has been busy shooting for a film in the South (with Rana Daggubati).

But we now hope to get her dates in the middle of July."

Shah denies the two pending songs have delayed the release of the movie. "In any case we were looking at September release."

However, sources insist it's only the songs that are delaying John's comeback plans.

Seems like airport trouble for our B-Town heroines is lasting forever. After Minissha Lamba, Bipasha Basu and Anushka Sharma, now it's Celina Jaitly.

Thankfully, she didn't have any problems with the customs but had a more horrible experience while travelling

from Maldives to Mumbai.

The actress was in Maldives shooting for a South flick titled Shrimati. She had a stopover in Colombo from where she was to board a connecting flight back to Mumbai.
To her dismay, her flight was inordinately delayed and as a result, she ended up spending 11 hours at the airport
At the terminal, Celina was holed up in a claustrophobic small room with no windows along with her staff members, who were accompanying her.
Says the starlet, "It was very frightening for me to be a part of the situation." As she didn't have a Sri Lankan visa, the authorities did not allow her to step out.
She and her staff members had to literally squeeze themselves in the den. They were not even allowed to leave the room that was guarded by the airport security till they were to report for their flight to Mumbai.
After the harrowing journey the actress was thankful and happy to just be back to the city. She adds, "The good thing is we are back and with a lesson never ever get stuck in such a situation!"

Shah Rukh Khan at a festival in Hyde Park, London. The star flew into England after attending the awards ceremony in Toronto and has been holidaying with family. He tweets, "Met Black Eyed Peas backstage with the kids......so gracious.... their concert rocked."

Ranveer Singh opens up about his relationship with Anushka Sharma on Simi Garewal's show
As soon as Ranveer Singh flew in from Toronto after attending a film awards night, the Band Baaja Baraat actor shot at Film City for Simi Selects India's Most Desirable on Wednesday.



The most obvious question was about his co-star Anushka Sharma. Though the twosome have appeared together on Koffee With Karan, this time it was the youngster who was left fielding questions about her co-star solo.

When asked about his liplock with Anushka in BBB he exclaimed, "Before the kiss, I asked her if she needed a mint, after the kiss I was left speechless!"

The actor further stated, "Anushka is a lovely girl but right now I have no time for a girlfriend. You need to have time for a girlfriend.

At the moment I am starting off and I am too self-absorbed. We fight a lot too!"

Interestingly, Anushka who shot earlier for Simi Garewal's show also said something similar about Ranveer being too self-absorbed.

On the spur-of-the-moment Ranveer also composed a rap song which he also rendered about his struggle in B-Town.

The song mentioned everyone associated with his debut including Aditya Chopra. The episode will be aired later this month.

Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha who finds Ranveer 'interesting' appears as guest in this week's episode.
